Signs and Causes of miscarriage.
Miscarriage is the loss of the fetus during pregnancy under 20 weeks. (If more is said to be a premature birth). About one in six pregnancies end in miscarriage, most occurred before the 16th week of pregnancy. One in 200 women experience recurrent miscarriages, even more than three times in a row.

Miscarriage can be a sad disaster, especially for couples who are longing for a child. However, in general, women can return to normal life after a miscarriage. Prospective mothers may be pregnant again after passing one menstrual period.

The signs of miscarriage

- Bleeding from the vagina, either spontaneously or preceded by a red-brown stain. The amount of blood that came out varies from just a few drops to such a period.
- Cramping pain in the lower abdomen.
- The release of fluid without bleeding or pain, possibly because of the loose membrane content.
- The release of solids from the vagina.

Miscarriages also can take place without causing bleeding or pain. Fetus suddenly disappeared and the signs of pregnancy stop. Contrary to popular belief some people who think the fetus has “eaten the jinn”, it is not a mystical event. Most likely the embryo (fetus will) already dead but still attached to the uterus that required surgery to remove it.

The causes of miscarriage

- Abnormalities of genes / chromosomes. Approximately 60-70% miscarriages occur because the sperm chromosomes are not in accordance with the chromosomes of eggs so that the fetus does not develop or develop abnormally. Miscarriage is the body’s way to end a pregnancy is not perfect.
- Disorders and infectious content. Embryo fetus needs a suitable place to grow. Deformity or infection in the womb can cause a miscarriage because the embryo fails to stick.
- Immunity. Maternal blood cells can form antibodies that prevent the normal development of the placenta.
- The opening of the cervix. At the age of further pregnancy, the cervix opening too soon (before the time of delivery) can cause miscarriage.
- Blood clotting (blood clotting). Some pregnant women have abnormal thrombosis (blood clotting) that prevents the formation of blood vessels of the placenta.
- Other causes. Hormonal disorders, uncontrolled diabetes, smoking, alcoholic beverages and a variety of parasites can also cause miscarriage.

Prevention

If there is threat of miscarriage as bleeding in early pregnancy, prevention efforts may be conducted with adequate rest in a few days, reducing sports activities, and stop having sex in a few weeks. In 50% of cases, the threat of miscarriage can be resolved so as not to continue.

If the threat of miscarriage caused by the premature opening of the cervix, the doctor may be doing the sewing to close up again until the time for delivery. Medical and treatment actions are also required when there are abnormalities of the uterus and cervix.
