Breast Cancer Information Is Important. Breast cancer usually occurs when certain cells located in the breasts begin to grow out of control, taking over nearby tissues and spreads throughout the body. Great collection of infected tissue called tumors. Some tumors are not yet considered as cancer can not, because it spreads throughout the body, or threaten a person lives. These cancers are called “benign tumors”.
Types of tumors that spread throughout the body and invade surrounding breast tissue are considered to be cancer and were given the name “malignant tumors”. It is said that each type of tissue in the breast can form some types of cancer, but the majority comes from pipes or glands.
It may take months or even years for a tumor to get large enough for someone genuinely feel that their breasts should be screened for cancer in the mammogram. Mammograms are used to detect any type of disease before a person even begins to feel.
Breast cancer is the most common “malignant tumor, which affects women in America and throughout Europe. Every woman is at risk of getting breast cancer and nearly 200,000 cases were said to be diagnosed in the United States in 2001. It is the second largest cause for lung cancer, cancer death of women in North America.
Types of risk factors of breast cancer are divided into two types that you can not change, and those that may change. Factors associated with increased risk of breast cancer, which can not change your include: it is sufficient that a woman, getting older, or a certain type of family history or a relative with breast cancer. Other risk factors are having your menopause late, with children the last thirty years, or the gene mutation, which would in any way increase the risk.
Some risk factors that can change are:
- May not use hormone replacement therapy (HRT), which means that long-term use of estrogen for menopause symptoms, in fact, slightly increase the risk.
- Stopping the use of contraceptive pills, because it should be noted that ten years after the end of the pill, women’s risk of breast cancer will return to what would be the case that was not used this form of contraception.
However, none of these risks are significant as those associated with your gender, age and family history.
All factors are based on probability, and this means that a person without any of those mentioned, is still subject to development of breast cancer and the best way to be sure is to get the proper testing and findings for the development of breast cancer.
There are preventive measures that may be taken, up to a point. It should be noted that drug called tamoxifen is widely used as a prevention, but it has been demonstrated that could be helpful in some cases. There is also a limited amount of data that suggests that vitamin A may be useful in the prevention of breast cancer, but further research is needed to prove it.
The most important step for a woman to prevent breast cancer is to plan regular inspections, screenings and Mammograms, learn how to conduct their own tests and also get all the information, can on the subject.
