Depression can come to us at any time during the year. Sometimes, holidays are the worst times for those who feel that the down-in-the-dumps fear and worry and everything just seems to happen to us feel gloomy and sad. Note that this feeling happens to all of us at one time or another. How do I know the feeling and know what to do, the purpose of this article.

No one can ignore, or should this feeling. It is universal and blues are very rooted in our world. Music and movies are legendary in dealing with this matter. If the feeling is too overwhelming, then sometimes professional help is desired action. We will talk here about funk depression, bound to think that nothing is wrong, and it will only get worse. These things are to help you:

1st Laughter is the best medicine is an old adage, but true. It’s amazing how when you are depressed, just laughing about something and release stress, you will feel better. If you have trouble finding something to laugh about, you may find some people to close your mind that you can call when you feel bad, you know who you allow to use “strength in numbers” theory. Invite a few good friends than just talk and have a starter and see how you feel much better afterwards.

2nd Listening to music is another key to overcoming depression. If you can just relax and let the type of music you love drift over you and enter your senses, you will find that you relax and feel better. Even as a child in the womb, we respond to music. You may find you want to get up and dance, and there is nothing wrong – even without a partner! Move to the beat and let all your stress flow from your fingers and toes.

3rd Something to do, and you’ll find you feel less depressed. There is something about a clean bathroom, living room, kitchen, or that most women give a sense of pride and order and joy. Men sometimes enjoy some of the same work and experiencing the same position. The point is, just get out and do something that moves your body. Maybe you can shoot hoops in the driveway, riding a bike around and say “HI” to a few of your neighbors. There is something to be said just watching the sunset, and realized how powerful the world and how we are only one part. It seems that sometimes, the bigger our problems in perspective.

4th Although we have the idea, why not try prayer when you feel depressed? Try to help someone less fortunate. Think of hospital patients and know that the most likely things worse than you. Yet, you see happy children and adults in some of the worst in the hospital setting. Count your blessings. Hug someone, or perhaps through some old photos happy times for the whole family.

Making productive activities will always perk you. Think positively about your life and things that you have received, and not dwell on problems. Take your dog for a walk and enjoy the animal endless joy to meet with you and with you. Sometimes simple undemanding love is all we need to overcome the blue feeling.
