Even though the distribution be calculated quickly, but the swine flu will not be as big killer ‘Spanish Flu’ which the world in the year 1918.

It was submitted by an Australian expert, Professor Robert Booy, head of clinical research at the National Center for Immunization Research &; Surveillance (NCIRS), Australia.

Told Booy, swine flu outbreak could develop into the world but the government and medical science is far more capable than the 1918 set. Around 50 million people died due to exposure of Spanish Flu.

Swine flu refers to influenza caused by any virus of the family Orthomyxoviridae, that is endemic to pig (swine) populations. Strains endemic in swine are called swine influenza virus (SIV), and all known strains of SIV are classified as Influenzavirus A (common) or Influenzavirus C (rare). Influenzavirus B has not been reported in swine. All three clades, Influenzavirus A, B, and C, are endemic in humans.

People who work with poultry and swine, especially people with intense exposures, are at risk of infection from these animals if the animals carry a strain that is also able to infect humans. SIV can mutate into a form that allows it to pass from human to human. The strain responsible for the 2009 swine flu outbreak is believed to have undergone this mutation.

The human breast is a gland that contains milk ducts, lobes, fatty tissue, and a network of lymphatic vessels. Cancerous tumors can develop in virtually any part of the breast and are most often detected when a woman feels a lump. Cancerous lumps are generally firm, never go away, and are usually pain-free. The majority of breast lumps are not cancerous, but there is no exact way to tell without a professional’s examination. A lump that seems to be growing or that does not move when it is pushed may be cancerous. However, it may also be caused by normal fibrocystic changes during the menstrual cycle. A biopsy is necessary to identify the lump. Breast cancer can also cause a yellow, bloody, or clear discharge from the nipple.

what is breast cancer?
Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women, and the second leading cause of cancer death for women in the United States. The American Cancer society estimates that 267,000 women were diagnosed with breast cancer in 2003, and about 39,800 deaths occurred from this disease. The lifetime risk of developing breast cancer for American women is about one in nine. Many surveys suggest that it is the health problem that is most feared by women. However, if breast cancer is detected early, the five-year-and-beyond survival rate is at about 95 percent.

Where the disease has not metastasized, the five-year survival rate for women suffering from breast cancer is about 86%. That percentage means that 86% of women who develop breast cancer live for at least five years after diagnosis. The good news is that depending on the stage it is discovered, the survival rate can be even higher than the overall average.

As with most cancers, breast cancer, develops in stages. A standard classification of letters and numbers is used to describe the stages – T, N and M and 0-IV. The alphabet T denotes the size of the tumor while alphabet N denotes that it has spread to the lymph nodes and the alphabet M means distant metastasis. When a primary tumor spreads to another area/s and forms more tumors, it has metastasized.

When a tumor cannot be assessed, it is designated the classification of TX. Where there is no indication of cancer, T0 is used. If one of the following forms is suspected – DCIS (ductal carcinoma in situ), LCIS (lobular carcinoma in situ) or Paget’s disease (where the nipple and/or areola is cancerous) – Tis is used.

Everyone needs successful stress management techniques. Easy to learn and easy to implement, you can use them for your own stress management or teach them to help others manage theirs.
Manage your stress and be a healthier, happier and more pleasant person to be around. Let’s cut to the chase…

1. Make stress your friend

Acknowledge that stress is good and make stress your friend! Based on the body’s natural “fight or flight” response, that burst of energy will enhance your performance at the right moment. I’ve yet to see a top sportsman totally relaxed before a big competition. Use stress wisely to push yourself that little bit harder when it counts most.

2. Stress is contagious

Stressed people sneeze stress germs indiscriminately and before you know it, you are infected with stress germs too!

Protect yourself from stress germs by recognising stress in others and limiting your contact with them. Or if you’ve got the inclination, play stress doctor and teach them how to better manage their stress.

What is The Ultimate Lifestyle?

First of all, it’s different for different people. There are
no rules or formulas. For some people, it means a lot of
money, lots of “stuff,” a fast-paced and “jet-set” sort of
lifestyle. For others, it means a very simple, slow-paced
life that focuses on service to others. And for others, it’s
every possible scenario in between these two “extremes.”

There’s no right or wrong lifestyle, or good or bad
lifestyle.

There’s just what works for you — and it will likely change
over time. I know it has for me.

No matter how you end up defining Ultimate Lifestyle for
yourself, now and in the future, there are 8 components that
must be considered:

1) Income Streams

To live your Ultimate Lifestyle, you must have income
streams flowing that allow you to pay your bills and finance
all the “extras” you prefer. To me, the ultimate target to
shoot for in this arena is to have income streams flowing
whether you “show up” for “work” or not, so you can choose
what you want to show up for (even if it continues to be
what you call “work” or a “job.”).

“I am going to start a diet tomorrow”. How many times have we said or heard these words? What do these words mean to you? For most of us it means a period of time in which we will subject ourselves to torture in order to lose a few pounds. Eventually we grow tired of this torture and go back to our old habits and gain those pounds back. I have known people who have been on this diet merry-go-round for years. One person comes to mind who actually uses the words: “I need to stop eating for a while”! This person thinks that the key to ideal weight and health is to not eat. He will skip breakfast and eat a pack of crackers for lunch and then a light dinner in the evening. He loses weight only to gain it back when he decides “to eat” again. This is an unhealthy practice which has been proven not to work on a long term basis.

On the other hand I have known people who have taken part in a weight loss program or weight watchers and have radically transformed themselves. A person comes to mind that I know rather well. She would actually enjoy her well planned meals and she often talked of taking regular walking trips with her mother. She lost weight and has managed to keep it off.

The obvious difference between the two people I mention is that one is on a diet and the other has changed her lifestyle. Let’s go deeper. Why is it that a program like diets or weight watchers can help a person achieve a lifestyle change and so successfully reach their weight loss goals? I think the reasons are many but I want to focus on one which I feel is instrumental in helping someone achieve a lifestyle change. Education.

One thing I have noticed when talking with people about weight loss and exercise is that everyone thinks they know how it is done. Unfortunately the ways they know are not healthy nor are they long term answers to being overweight.

A lifestyle change comes from a transformation of thought which comes from learning something new or a powerful emotional incident. A perfect example would be of me learning about Cola’s and the sugar they contain. Did you know that one can of Cola contains nearly 10 teaspoons of sugar or the entire daily recommended amount of calories from sugar? I certainly did not know this and was very startled when I learned it. Ponder on that for a while and it will certainly change your beverage consumption. Making a decision to change from cola to water is not very appealing. After studying the health consequences of cola and then studying the rewards of pure water…drinking water is now an enjoyable experience. When I go to take a sip of water my thoughts are on how cleansing it is to my body and how healthy it is to be well hydrated.

I know that the above example is an oversimplification but my point is that education is the key to lifestyle change and programs like weight watchers and diets are perfect ways to get this education in a supporting atmosphere. I like the fact that some weight loss programs can be done online in the privacy of your own home. You can be united with other members and join them in chat rooms and discussions. You can share recipes, success stories, and emotions. Joining together with thousands of other members give you access to physicians, counselors, dieticians, and other motivated people at a fraction of the cost it would cost you if you tried to hire them one on one.

If you have read any of my other articles you will know that I am a firm believer in a healthy lifestyle, exercise, and supplementation. I also know how hard it is to break destructive habits with willpower alone. We all would like to believe that we can lose weight when we make up our mind. Trouble is, we never really make up our mind so we spend our time on the diet merry-go-round.

Yours in health,

Bill Herren

It was “Pomp and Circumstance” once more this spring as we attended another college graduation. This time, my 19-year-old son was graduating with his bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. In less than a month, he would start his new position as an Assistant Technical Analyst in a Fortune 500 corporation. But wait… at nineteen, isn’t he supposed to be starting college?

I don’t know about you, but I’ve never seen the point in wasting time. I was always the kid who read ahead in class, finished homework before leaving school for the day, and saw no point in filling out sixteen workbook pages on a concept I already knew. When it came to educating my four boys, I’ve taken a similar approach. Once the basics of a subject are mastered, they can move ahead as quickly as they like, earning college credit while still in high school. Why not?

Benjamin Franklin once said, “Dost thou love life? Then do not squander time; for that’s the stuff life is made of.” Although traditional education has decreed that primary and secondary education should take twelve or thirteen years to complete, there is no good reason to spend that amount of time, unless you want to.
